There are many disturbing aspects to the Dr. Michael Domeier tagging activities as shown in footage recently broadcast. SCS recognises that there are occasions when capture is necessary, but believes that on these occasions animal welfare considerations should be paramount. Techniques vary, but "over large" J hooks, and twenty minutes out of the water are not measures the Society would find acceptable.
