Registered Supporters/Friends

The annual fee for being an SCS Registered Supporter is £20 which can either be paid by cheque, postal order, or money draft sent to the society's office together with a completed application form which can be downloaded at the end of this section. Those wishing to join by making electronic payments can do so using the paypal system at the end of this section.

Being a Registered Supporter of the Shark Conservation Society entitles the supporter to the following.

• - Eligibility to apply to join SCS expeditions.
• - Bi-annual electronic newsletter for those who have registered their e-mail address with the society. The newsletter will not be published in paper form.
• - Automatic invitation to attend society public meetings which will happen in London and Birmingham at the same time as the Dive shows starting with the 2009 London Dive Show.

Supporters benefits.

The Society was launched on October 1st 2008 and the benefits listed below marked with an asterisk are planned for the future and are not existing at the time of writing.

• - As above, eligibility to apply to join expeditions, electronic newsletter, meetings attendance.
• - Two-week advance notice of expeditions so that existing registered supporters will automatically have more chance of securing a place.
• - Two-week advance publication by e-mail of expedition reports prior to their appearing on the website.
• - Code to access the supporters area *
• - Discounts on SCS and Shark Cornwall merchandise, further discounts on other products and services are being negotiated and will be added in due course. Discounts can be obtained by quoting your SCS supporters number (See Shark Shopping) *
• - Introductions (on a personal basis if possible) to shark eco-tourist operators around the world. SCS directors and supporters have a wide range of contacts throughout the world which will be made available to our supporters.
• - Once numbers of supporters have achieved the requisite financial critical mass we will be issuing credit card style supporters cards.
